I am a general practitioner with over 30 years experience and have been involved in the development of young dentists for the majority of my career.

Since graduating in 1993, I’ve worked alongside new graduates, guiding and mentoring them through the challenges that the early years bring in this profession.

The variety of roles & positions I have held has provided me with the opportunity to develop a wide range of knowledge & skills, specifically with regards to the development of young dentists and the wider team around me.

Having set up my own squat mixed Practice in 2001, I became an Educational Supervisor for Dental Foundation Training (DFT) in 2003.

This also extended in periods to Therapist Foundation Training (TFT) & DCT.

In 2013 I was selected to be a Training Programme Director for DFT. A post I still currently hold.

This has been the most rewarding role I have had in my career, as I have had the privilege to oversee the development of hundreds of new graduates, dealing with a multitude of varying issues and difficulties they have faced.

Organising the study day programme has also provided me with a unique opportunity to network across the profession and gain insights into the current issues and challenges the profession and professionals face in dentistry today.

Education, coaching & mentoring have been passions of mine that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed & continue to enjoy throughout my career, and I’m grateful for the opportunities to help & guide my fellow professionals.
