Areas of Practice: General Dentistry, Clinical Dental Adviser – North West Region

With over 25 years of experience as a dentist and practice owner, I bring a wealth of knowledge, understanding, and firsthand expertise to coaching and mentoring. Having graduated from Leeds Dental Institute in 1997, I built my own successful NHS dental practice from the ground up in 2005, leading it as practice principal until its sale in 2022. My journey as a practice owner has given me deep insight into the challenges and triumphs of running a busy practice, from navigating CQC inspections to managing teams and delivering high-quality patient care.

Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping others thrive in dentistry. For 14 years, I served as an educational supervisor, mentoring and guiding new dental graduates as they began their careers. My experience extends to being a mentor for Health Education England, a Dental Practitioner Advice and Support Scheme (DPASS) facilitator for Lancashire LDC, supporting dentists facing challenges in their professional lives. 

Currently, I work as a part time Dental Adviser with NHS Professional Standards and I am nearing the completion of a Diploma in ILM Level 7 in Coaching and Mentoring, further enhancing my skills to support professionals in achieving their goals. I also volunteer as a coach for the Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub, where I provide coaching and mentoring to a wide variety of businesses across different industries. This experience has broadened my perspective and reinforced my belief that tailored support can empower individuals and teams to achieve remarkable outcomes.

Having transitioned into coaching, I specialise in working with dental professionals navigating leadership, practice management, and career transitions. I also draw on my own lived experiences, including a challenging recovery from a spinal tumour and complex spinal surgery that reshaped my professional career, giving me a unique perspective on resilience, adaptability, and work life balance.

My approach is practical, empathetic, and tailored to each client’s unique goals, whether it’s overcoming confidence issues, refreshing clinical skills, or stepping into leadership roles, I’ve helped dentists rediscover their potential and move forward with clarity and confidence. I understand the complexities of dental practice life and strive to provide actionable strategies that deliver results.

Outside of coaching, I am an avid Manchester City fan and long time season ticket holder, a proud father, and someone who loves exploring new ventures and experiences.
