I graduated from Birmingham University in 2001 and have been serving as a Principal Dentist at a busy NHS General Dental Practice since 2008. My role has provided me with a deep understanding of the pressures and challenges my dental colleagues face from a professional perspective.

Since 2015, I have been mentoring fellow dentists, initially as an Approved Mentor for Health Education North-West and currently through Dental Mentors UK. Over the years, I have supported many registrants in preparing for challenges such as GDC Fitness to Practice cases and NHS England investigations. My mentorship includes the development and organisation of Personal Development Plans, signposting relevant courses, and offering feedback on work like audits and reflections—critical elements that form part of remediation evidence for regulatory bodies. I also undertake Clinical Supervision which can be done in person or remotely.

As an experienced mentor, I have encountered a wide variety of cases and am well-versed in supporting registrants during difficult periods. Additionally, since 2010, I have been an Educational Supervisor for Foundation Dentists and always look forward to the new challenge of guiding a new Foundation Dentist each year.

I am passionate about teaching and leading a productive dental team. Completing my Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice has encouraged me to constantly seek ways to improve both my clinical expertise and teaching skills to ensure the continuous development of those I mentor and supervise.
