I qualified from St Barts and the Royal London, Queen Mary school of medicine and dentistry in 2003, aged just 22. It’s been a tremendous learning journey since as I have embarked on several post graduate courses and gained certification in various fields of restorative dentistry. I was extremely proud to receive my prestigious Membership of the joint dental faculties of Surgery and General Practice. I love so many aspects of my profession, and as such have never specialised as I would rather not be limited to one niche, or indeed one profession! I inherited my fierce, stubborn entrepreneurial spirit from my father whom, not content with being a Professor is now fulfilling his ambition of building a university! Recent course have included being amongst the first dentists in the UK to receive additional training in advanced SmileFast 3D smile design. I am also proud to be the first UK dentist to partner their practice with Rain International, a pioneering seed nutrition company as I could see how the power of seeds and the anti inflammatory, protective and healing properties within them could play a significant role in dentistry, especially within the whole body holistic approach which we adopt here. I am currently writing a dentists/patients guide on this important link and enjoy the media work and networking which comes with raising awareness on the topic. As an avid talker and listener, I also enjoy the art of mentoring and relationship coaching, not just my patients but now people across the globe too! Happiewithmaggie has been launched to embrace this aspect of what I love to do.
I do have special dental interests and amongst those I am most passionate about pain free minimally invasive dentistry, creation of new smiles, root canal treatments, CEREC Primescan use and treatment of children top the list. I am also an avid follower of the Slow Dentistry movement which strives for Gold Standard unrushed dentistry which our patients adore.
I am particularly passionate about a recent movement I have started which has rapidly gained momentum. It’s the Black Seed Members Club which is underwritten by Denplan. It is my aim to ensure that Mill Hill Dental Practice will continue to provide ethical, affordable, pain free treatments and will continue to reach out to all patients, especially those of BAME backgrounds as I strive to give back to the community that raised me, particularly through our £28 monthly members plans. This will hopefully drive the message forward that prevention is better than cure.
