Sarah Lyle
I have extensive leadership, clinical and managerial experience extending over 42 years encompassing State funded, NHS hospital and community services and Specialist Private Practice. In 2011 I moved to Guernsey to work in the Children’s Dental Service, (CDS) where, after a short period of time, I was appointed as the Head of The Children’s Dental Services. This summer I put aside my handpieces and retired from clinical dentistry and returned to the UK.
During my career not only have I supported many dental professional colleagues in the development of their own careers, including when they wish a change in direction which can often be very daunting. I have also helped those who have come into regulatory or employment difficulties which is very stressful not only for the person concerned but also for their fellow professionals, friends, and families. It is vital that we are all supported in a way that can enable us to develop and enjoy our work while being aware of the importance of maintaining a good work-life balance.
Working with other professionals and supporting them, sometimes through challenging periods in their careers, has given me, as well as them, great rewards and satisfaction. It has also led to long term friendships.
